One of My Favorite Focal Points

The wave petunias have no equal next to the big rock that I had my dad and husband move into place! Their backs did not appreciate the size of the rock that I had picked out from among the several lining the street's empty lots. But now, it is the first thing I see when I pull up to the driveway and the one thing that makes me smile no matter the day!

Mystery Gardenia Blooming--Finally!

The smell is amazing!

The first of the yellow daylilies with a ruffle petal edge! Very pretty! I now have 6 blooming daylilies....it is just too bad that they cannot be seen past the mulch pile!

My wonderful garden! It now hosts 3 strawberry plants (thanks Bran!), 1 heirloom tomato, and 5 barely perceptible asparagus plants. I cannot wait to add cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, and many other veggies on the other wings!

The first completed island

As the weekend ends, this island is the only completed portion of the yard. It took 2 days to till, 2 days to spread weed fabric, 1 day to install the drip system, and 1 day to unload more loads of mulch than I care to count!

One Big A** Pile of Mulch!!

50 Cubic Yards never looked so intimidating!

Exhausted!

Mulch comes tomorrow and I'm already exhausted! Since we got the confirmation that the 2+ loads of mulch were coming this Friday, I have been working on preparing the beds (which were previously yard). Tilling hurts the hands, back, and body! AND now I have 50 cubic yards being dumped in my driveway tomorrow!

Kleim's Gardenias!

More blooms appear everyday! It is nearly white with flowers! AND it smells so nice!

Second blooming daylily. I love the dark coloring!

First Daylilies!

This flower is one of two that bloomed on Tuesday, May 20th! It is one of the random flowers provided to us by Matt's Grandmother.
